CFUW-Nanaimo is an organization of over 100 women
university graduates who live in and around Nanaimo, BC, Canada. Our club is one
of more than 120 clubs across the country that comprise the Canadian Federation of
University Women (CFUW), which in turn is
part of the International Federation of University Women (IFUW). We are sometimes referred to as University Women's Club. Our General Meetings are held at 7:30 p.m. on the second Monday of every
month (September to May). Meetings are held at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church Hall, 4235 Departure Bay Road, Nanaimo. We invite all prospective members to join us at any meeting. In addition to general meetings, small groups of members join each other for discussion, activity, friendship and fun in various Interest Groups. Having fun isn't specifically listed, but it's invariably a
by-product of our various activities. Membership entitles you to attend any interest group activities and to
receive a copy of our newsletter. The club is active from September to May of
each year. Some Interest Groups continue to meet throughout the summer.
The annual membership fee is $80, which is reduced for student members and new members
who join mid-year. CFUW-Nanaimo respects and safeguards the privacy of our members.

WHAT WE DO:
GENERAL MEETINGS
We get together for monthly general meetings. Structured to include presentations on a variety of interesting topics using speakers, panels, educational programs or hands-on activities, our format is presentations, followed by social time with tea and coffee, followed by a short business meeting.
MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
Any woman holding either a bachelor's degree or
equivalent from a university with international accreditation is eligible for
full club membership. Equivalency includes a professional designation or qualification considered to be equivalent to a degree by the profession's recognized regulatory body. Associate membership is available for women who support the objectives of CFUW, have some post-secondary education or have a record of community involvement or professional business experience. Student membership is available to any female student who has completed at least one year of college/university and is taking at least two courses on a continuing basis towards a degree.
